Applicants must:

• Have completed a Ph.D. in any of the following areas: Jewish studies, Christian studies, Islamic studies or research in other religious disciplines either from a sociological, philosophical or other disciplinary perspective.
• Come with two references
• Speak English
• Have teaching and administrative skills

Applicant can receive:

• Scholarships and additional funding available in special circumstances

Applicants are expected to:

• Live in Jinan for a full academic year.
• Participate and work with Prof Fu Youde and/ or Prof Avrum Ehrlich on research, translation and administrative projects relating to the centre.
• Conduct independent research and publish or co-publish at least one academic paper during the post doctorate period bearing the name of the author and Shandong University on the publication.
• Teach or tutor a course in the applicant’s area of expertise.
• Participate in the activities of the centre and interact with the department’s students and scholars.
• Learn some Chinese language and culture.
• Represent the Centre in applicant’s home institution.
