Scholarships for Masters, Doctoral and Post Doctoral Candidates of Excellence

The Centre for Judaic and Inter Religious Studies together with the Ehrlich Family Fund for the Promotion of Judaic, Inter Cultural and Academic Exchange, and other funding bodies offer scholarships for Masters, Doctoral and Post Doctoral Studies at the Centre for Judaic Studies at the University of Shandong.

 

Applicants must:

  • Have completed a B.A, M.A or Ph.D. depending on application.
  • Have excellent grades and be viewed as a valuable contribution to the research and teaching assets of the Centre.
  • Have a proven interest in some areas of Jewish, religious or philosophic thinking or background in the study of other religious, philosophic or sociological disciplines.
  • Send a CV with courses studied and marks
  • Come with two references
  • Speak, write and read English fluently.

 

Applicant can receive:

  • On campus accommodation
  • Small stipend
  • Office space, desk, computer and hi speed internet, library access
  • Honorary association at the Centre for Judaic and Inter Religious Studies

 

Applicants are expected to:

  • Live in Jinan for the period of their studies.
  • Participate and work with Prof Fu Youde and/ or Prof Avrum Ehrlich on research, translation and administrative projects relating to the centre.
  • Conduct independent research and publish or co-publish at least one academic paper during the scholarship period bearing the name of the author and Shandong University on the publication.
  • Tutor a course in the applicant’s area of expertise.
  • Participate in the activities of the centre and interact with the department’s students and scholars.
  • Learn some Chinese language and culture.
  • Represent the Centre in applicant’s home institution.
