THE 1^st ANNUAL SUMMER SCHOOL IN JEWISH STUDIES

PLACE:         Old Campus of Shandong University
DATE:           Friday July 3^rd. till Thursdayday July 14^th.
THEME:       Jewish Culture, Religion and Thought (language of instruction – English)
COST:           200 RMB for registration and accommodation in student dormitory. (Dose not include
                       food and travel)
Scholarship: Students who have difficult in money can be offered small scholarship. (depending on the
                      specific conditions of the applicants.)
Enrollment: 100 students. (the first 100 students registered)

The Summer School is designed for diverse groups of students including:

• Undergraduate students of history, philosophy, sociology and politics interested in areas of Jewish studies.
• Post graduate students already studying Jewish subjects.
• Doctoral students researching in specific areas of Jewish studies who seek diversification.
• Lecturers and instructors in Jewish studies seeking greater diversification.
• General interest students.
• International and Jewish students spending short periods of time in China.
• International students interested in combining Jewish studies and a tour of China.

General Fields of Tuition include:
Hebrew Language        Hebrew Bible           Rabbinic Philosophy 
Jewish Mysticism       Modern Jewish Philosophy       Major Events in Jewish History
Jewish Religion and Tradition

Cultural Activities (Optional) include:
Jewish Musics, Songs and Movies.    Israeli Dancing    Traditional Shabbat Dinner and Celebration       Jewish practice, rituals and ideas.
Tours of Shandong and its historic sights; Qufu, Jinan.
